Post-Doctoral Associate

Position Description:
The primary responsibilities of the position are to independently conduct research in virology, immunology and vaccine development against swine respiratory viruses, such as porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, torque teno virus and swine influenza virus. The project involves the characterization of mechanisms of pathogenesis in a swine model, determining the correlates of protection at the pathogen and host interface and development of vaccines and diagnostic tests. Reliability, organization, attention to detail, self-motivation and professionalism are expected qualities. The candidate will have some responsibilities in lab management, student training, supervision and assisting with related research projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in molecular virology or related life science fields
Demonstrated research experience in a laboratory environment.
Excellent inter-personal and oral and written communication skills
Molecular biology experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in molecular virology as evidenced by publications
Experience with recombinant DNA , protein expression and immunology techniques
Experience with animal experimentation
