Job Details

Position Description:
Tenure Track, 60% Research, 40% Teaching Nine-month appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to develop leadership in the department's research and teaching programs in agricultural finance, risk analysis, and may include related areas (e.g., cooperative finance). Exceptional quantitative skills are expected to strengthen the candidate's research and teaching program. Teaching responsibilities at the graduate and undergraduate levels will be in agricultural/agribusiness finance or associated areas and will depend upon the needs of the department.

Faculty evaluations in the department are based on successful publication in leading disciplinary journals, active participation in professional activities, effective teaching and advising at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, satisfactory service and outreach activities to the profession, state, university and department as well as successful pursuit of extramural funding sufficient to support an active research program.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. an earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics or economics by date of appointment; expertise In quantitative methods;
2. effective oral and written communication skills;
3. demonstrated expertise in the area of agricultural finance; and
4. demonstrated ability to conduct research and disseminate results in leading academic journals;

Preferred Qualifications:
1. evidence of teaching effectiveness;
2. interest and/or training in applied risk analysis;
3. knowledge of cooperative/agribusiness finance;
4. ability to obtain extramural support for research activities;
5. ability to communicate research results to clientele groups;
6. expected to have demonstrated consistent and excellent contributions to research and publication and scholarship; and
7. a record of externally funded research in the area of agricultural/agribusiness finance or risk analysis.
