Department: 47060 Finance Shared Services
Job Description: This position provides leadership and oversight for enterprise-wide accounting and financial operations of a five state integrated health care organization. Functional responsibilities include accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, investment reporting, debt, tax, financial systems, capital budgeting, cash and investment management of the corporate portfolios, to include advising or directing all long-term pension, foundation and self-insurance funds. Control the consolidated financial accounting function, including obligated and non-obligated groups, to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting to senior management, the Essentia Health Finance/Planning Committee and Board. Support CFO with coordination of bond and debt issuance, oversight of debt compliance requirements, covenant monitoring, and credit rating agency presentations. Oversees the short-term debt programs of the organization (lines of credit and commercial paper) and assists the CFO in developing strategies to minimize interest rate cost and risks on the organization's capital structure. Oversee the financial position and budget of the Shared Service entity of Essentia Health (Co 1000). Serve as a key partner to Finance and Essentia Health leadership.
Education Qualifications:
Education Level:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is required.
MBA in finance, accounting, business administration or related discipline is required.
CPA Desirable.
Years of experience required:
Ten or more years of demonstrated experience in providing highly strategic, innovative financial leadership in a healthcare organization.
Licensure/CertificationQualifications:

- High level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, coworkers and others
- Ability to challenge, negotiate, and influence key senior executives
- Demonstrated ability to tie financial models to strategic initiatives

Certificates, Licenses and Designations:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), and Cash Management certifications are desirable.
