Position Description:
North Dakota State University, Department of Emergency Management invites applications for a one year Assistant Professor position (August 2018-May 2019).

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be required to teach EMGT 101 Emergencies, Disasters and Catastrophes and teach at least two of the following: preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery, as well as other courses from within our current undergraduate and graduate program. A Ph.D. in Emergency Management or closely related discipline (e.g., Geography, Planning, Sociology, and Political Science) is required. The teaching load for this position is 3-3 courses with possible multiple sections of the same course. The position will require some departmental service. Additional requirements include effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated classroom teaching experience in the aforementioned topical areas, ideally within an emergency management higher education program, and those with social media skills.
