Job Information

Responsible for the application of approved quality engineering policies, practices and programs that increases quality and reduces cost.

Role & Responsibility

  • Lead in the development and implementation of investigative techniques for manufacturing processes, systems, equipment and materials in terms of their impact on quality and cost.
  • Design, recommend, and implement process controls where appropriate.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems and make recommendations to resolve and/or correct such problems.
  • Develop and implement appropriate controls and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Develop evaluation techniques and documentation that effectively communicate part/process evaluations to appropriate departments in design, manufacturing, purchasing or service.
  • Forecast, evaluate, justify, design, select and implement machines, tools and equipment that increase quality and reduce cost.
  • Develop and conduct quality tests on and prepare evaluation of purchase supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Review and recommend modifications to preliminary engineering designs for purpose of quality and cost.
  • Work with design and manufacturing engineering during prototype builds to determine if product or component meets specifications. If not, investigate and recommend modifications to parts or processes which assure compliance.
  • Participate in vendor reviews, audits and certification.
  • Be aware of trends and developments in product design and manufacturing processes that can be used to impact quality and cost.
  • Participate in the planning and application of these trends and developments.


Job Requirement

  • Engineer-General Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 0>2 years’ experience
  • Root Cause Investigation -Being able to follow the DMAIC process effectively is key to executing a process that drives corrective actions.
  • Mechanical Aptitude -Technical understanding of our product is required to assist an individual in identifying root cause. Hydraulic, electrical, machining, welding, assembly, are a few competencies that aid an individual in driving the appropriate actions needed to solve quality problems.
  • Persuasion & Influence- Quality staff must work effectively within their self and with others when assisting with problem solving and when driving corrective actions. Other than technical competence, people skills are a necessity.
  • Time Management -There are always multiple projects, tasks, meetings, and other activities going on at the same time, requiring a Quality Engineer to be very good at time management. Often, it becomes impossible to accomplish all tasks expected of an individual. Being skilled at handling these stressful situations is key to succeeding as a Quality Engineer I.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
