JOB SUMMARY

Functions as a resource and/or professional liaison with internal departments and external agencies to promote the primary goal of optimal care to the patient. Administers and coordinates activities related to the continued development, implementation, and evaluation of a designated and assigned program within Sanford Health. Promotes optimal regional care through clinical activities, professional and public education, research and registry activities, and the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process. Maintains current knowledge of program(s) via literature review, rounds, and conferences. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations. Able to collaborate effectively with multiple disciples and facilities to maintain working relationships, networking, and feedback regarding the care of the patient. Function as a liaison of medical center within the city, county, region, and state agencies. Develops and implements quality measures based on program standards or accreditation. Facilitate preparedness responsibilities in accordance with designated accrediting programs and agencies and their standards. Coordinates and supervises activities that contribute to and maintain program accreditation. Certain program objective and focus may be designed around grants. Grant administration responsibilities may include: assist project team in grant post award activities, maintain grant and contract files, review contracts, develops progress reports, and reviews closed grant for completeness. Articulates potential positive and negative impacts on the business and community of company actions and practices. Assists in the collection and preparation of required budget information. Collaborates with an extended professional network of contacts to help clients effectively identify, plan for and accomplish objectives. Contributes significantly to the well-being of team members and the larger community. Ensures staff development is in line with strategic organizational and departmental objectives. Establishes and maintains productive working relationships within and outside of own area. Evaluates relevant industry practices from an operations perspective and works accordingly. Helps promote collaboration across generations, functions, regions, and levels. Maintains current certifications in specialty and continues education when necessary. Makes use of journals, associations, and conferences in own professional specialty. Mentors others to ensure performance reports meet the needs of the organization. Recognizes and assesses problems, opportunities and methods for improving existing business performance.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Manages and collaboratively coordinates, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer program standards and accreditation, the Cancer Registry, Oncology Education, and programs for cancer services in keeping with the mission, strategies and objectives of Sanford Health and overall objectives in providing quality care. Position may include periodic grant implementation.
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Must have two years managerial experience with fiscal responsibilities. Must have knowledge of oncology and cancer registry practices and current issues. Experience with management of grants preferred.
Position will work collaboratively with Bemidji cancer program to support cancer registry. Supports integrative therapies including massage therapy and art specialist. Leads oncology education initiatives. Will manage staff working on-site and remotely.

QUALIFICATIONS

Currently holds an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Specialty certification strongly encouraged. Bachelor's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Master's degree in nursing or related healthcare field preferred. Minimum three years experience in specialty setting specific to program(s) and services to be managed.Prior experience in the clinical setting required. Prior experience working within inter-professional practices. Experience in research and experience in evidence-based practice. Leadership experience in administrative and/or operations along with strong clinical focus preferred. Background with diverse populations and the underserved preferred.
