Job Title: Floral Clerk (Job Code #002310)

Reports To: Floral Manager

PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in addition to providing the highest quality floral arrangements to our customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assists customers during their shopping experience

• Greet, Offer, & Thank all customers
• Provide floral expertise to customers
• Design and assemble fresh arrangements for customers
  

Functional Requirement:

• Physical: walking, bending, kneeling, able to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 50 lbs., equipment operation (intercom, telephone, scanner, register, scale, scissors, box cutter)
• May occasionally be exposed to temperatures of approximately 35 F while handling products in coolers and display cases. Most of the work is performed in a temperature-controlled store environment.
• Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, knowledge of weights and measurements, memorization, reading, writing, & math
• Ability to learn design, proper handling, preparation, seasonality, and perishability of product.
  

Maintenance of fresh product and a clean shopping environment

• Proper inventory control through pricing, labeling, watering, and stocking
• Ensure an appropriate amount of product is readily available for customers
• Reviews the status and appearance of the product for freshness and replenishes and rotates products daily
• Ensure proper merchandising of product by understanding schematics, merchandising of advertised items, proper signage procedures, and meeting customer demands.
• Prepares and completes all daily record keeping and documentation required for the department
• Cleans all floral equipment, cases, floors, doors, walls, and storage areas according to cleaning schedule and standards.

• Properly trim, cut, wrap, arrange and display product
• Ensures proper pricing and signage of product
• Restocks, faces, and waters throughout the day
• Verifying orders against invoices
• Maintains cleanliness and eye-appeal of sales floor and back room

• Ability to Greet, Offer, & Thank all customers
• Ability to receive feedback and implement processes for improvement
• Ability to follow directions from the Floral Manager
• Reporting any shortages and spoiled or damaged product to the Floral Manager
  

Time management skills

• Ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision in a timely manner
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on customer and business needs
  

*Must be able to work a variety of shifts; including nights, weekends, & holidays.
