Position Description:
North Dakota State University invites applications for two positions of Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics to begin on August 16, 2018. These are one-year term positions with a 3-3 teaching load.

North Dakota State University is the land-grant university in the state of North Dakota. The Department of Mathematics has a vigorous and growing doctoral program and is currently composed of 16 faculty members, 3 Visiting Professors, and 29 graduate students (most of whom are Ph.D. students). The research interests of the faculty include the fields of algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, combinatorics, geometry/topology, and mathematics education. The department offers the opportunity for an energetic mathematician to work in a small, friendly, research oriented department while at the same time enjoying exposure to colleagues in a wide variety of fields. Minimum Qualifications:
The required qualifications are:
a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics; evidence of and potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate level; and effective oral and written communication skills; eligibility to work in the United States on August 15, 2018.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching undergraduate courses at the freshman and sophomore level.
