JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible and accountable for oversight of tasks and processes developed to facilitate the credentialing process for reappointment applications to medical staff and professional staff. Responsibilities to include: overseeing the timelines and workflow processing of the reappointment cycles; Accountable for the completeness and identifying issues requiring additional information or investigation on applications; overseeing the accuracy of application data entry and verification requests; performing the final review of processed verifications for quality and content; developing correspondence to obtain additional information as needed; coordinating communication of final credentialing recommendations to all parties; generating audits and reports to support/document the verifications and credentialing process; and initiation of the provider application process. Must be aware of available resources related to regulatory, licensure, and accreditation regulations related to credentialing and compliance. Requires excellent organizational skills, and keen skill for constancy, attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

This internship is 32 hours per week and 12 weeks in length.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
