Overview
Full time benefited position working 72-80 hours per two-week pay-period. Days of work are Sunday - Saturday with hours from 7am to 3:30pm and 9:30pm to 6am.
Organizes, plans, and schedules daily activities of Sterile Processing Department. Provides orientation training & staff development events for Sterile Processing Department personnel. Performs activities associated with the decontamination and sterilization of instruments for clinical departments in the hospital and clinic. Performs activities associated with the processing, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment for patient care and hospital department use.

Qualifications
A minimum of high school education and the equivalent of two years of technical training in Sterile Processing and/or LPN in North Dakota. If not certified upon hire, will complete and pass the on-line certification course within one year of hire.
Two years work experience in Sterile Processing. Certified or eligible to be certified as a Registered Central Service Technician. Health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Schedules staff, daily activities, orientation, and training of staff.
- Assists the manager to assess the competencies of the Sterile Processing Department personnel.
- Assists Material Services Manager with interview process for new employees.
- Assists with updating policies and procedures to make sure the department is compliant with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintains communication and promotes cooperation with other departments.
- Performs processing of sterile instruments and supplies for use in patient care areas. Including cleaning, decontamination, proper wrapping, and sterilization by autoclaving and storage of surgical instruments and linen using aseptic technique. Reviews sterility expiration dates and rotates supplies to prevent outdates.
- Rotates and replenishes supplies on the par carts at established par levels. Informs buyer of any supplies for which inventory levels are off.
- Scans barcodes for billing of chargeable supplies.
- Maintains equipment utilized for patient care and reports malfunctioning equipment to the Biomedical Department.
- Provides backup assistance for materials tech.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
