Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Status:  $54,000+ per year, Exempt, Full-Time, Benefitted, 12 month position 
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Travel may be required, which may include weekends and overnight stays

The High Impact Practices Coordinator is responsible for ensuring every UND student has at least three high impact practices (HIPs) during their undergraduate experience.  The HIPs Coordinator will develop a campus-wide plan to provide, assess, and measure the success of HIPs relative to UND’s strategic plan.  The Coordinator will work within TTaDA to harness and leverage pedagogical practices known as HIPs within and beyond the classroom to improve retention and increased learning outcomes for undergraduate students.  The Coordinator will support the development and delivery of HIPs programming and professional development (both on campus and online) based on research, best practices, and outcome data.  In addition, the Coordinator will communicate to stakeholders on the importance, value and outcome of HIPs.  The Coordinator will also maintain knowledge and professional competency on HIPs best practices with demonstrated student success outcomes and participate in TTaDA organizational meetings.    
 

  1. Develop a plan to measure short and long term HIPs plan on student academic retention and learning Develop benchmarks and metrics and assess the quality and outcome of high impact educational activities with attention to access and equity Develop quality measures Work with department chairs and academic deans to define and inventory existing high impact practices and their impact on student learning, retention and on-time graduation rates Work with Registrar to identify ways to include HIPs on student transcripts Develop research briefs and provide data to departments, colleges and other stakeholders concerning HIPs practices and outcomes Offer professional development opportunities for faculty and staff on how to effectively implement high impact learning in classrooms and the co-curriculum Recruit faculty and staff to strategically develop, offer and market more HIPs opportunities Work collaboratively with department chairs and faculty members and other offices to ensure quality and equity in face-to-face and online delivery and experience of HIPs Develop communication plans to engage all stakeholders regarding HIPs opportunities across colleges/programs and the co-curriculum Schedule and facilitate campus, college, and departmental conversations and offer professional development opportunities for faculty and staff on how to effectively implement high impact learning in classrooms and the co-curriculum In collaboration with Office of Institutional Research, Institutional Effectiveness, Essential Studies (ES), and other offices, regularly communicate outcomes of HIPs In collaboration with ES, student affairs, and other offices, communicate the value of HIPs to students and market HIPs opportunities to students Maintain knowledge through keeping updated on best practices and research in the field of HIPs Participate in regional and national HIPs conferences as funding allows with specific outcomes applied to UND Engage and collaborate with TTaDA colleagues on HIPs offerings, communication, and other activities Actively engage in TTaDA team meetings Other duties as assigned


Required Competencies:

Written: Producing documents that are clear, concise, appropriate to the task, focused and well organized.  Listening: Actively listens to recognize and clarify verbal and non-verbal messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, solve problems, and make sound decisions
  • Experience building collaborative relationships and able to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to work in a changing environment that is heavily focused on student success and interaction, with evidence of being a self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high activity environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines required
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to be detail oriented
  • Proven history of working successfully with diverse populations; able to demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for academic, ethnic, socio-economic, ability, age and gender diversity of students and staff attending or working at UND



Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree with specialized knowledge of High Impact Educational Practices. 
  • Extensive experience with HIPs best practices, equity issues and higher education landscape
  • Evidence of successful experience collaborating and building relationships with multiple constituencies
  • Experience with data analysis.  (Data informed perspective and data analysis skills)
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Successful Completion of Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree
  • Experience working with Blackboard or other learning management systems, and online learning
  • Teaching experience at the college level
