Managing Director of Principal and Major Gifts
The MSUM Alumni Foundation seeks to hire a Managing Director of Principal and Major Gifts to serve as a lead for the development team and liaison to the development committee of the Board. Responsibilities include developing strategies, managing staff, providing counsel and assigning budgets so the development team can reach its annual goals. This professional will develop annual work plans based on strategic priorities, monitor progress toward goals, serve as a member of management, provide lead direction for development staff, and manage a major and principal gift portfolio between 50-75 donors. Substantial travel is required. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter with a Bachelor’s degree, demonstrated people skills, and a good working knowledge of gift cultivation and solicitation strategies. This candidate will remain current in the areas of gift possibilities available and the current laws and regulations governing such gifts. Successful candidates will have 3+ years’ experience in annual, planned, and major giving as well as 2+ years’ experience supervising staff.
