The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) is looking to hire up to two part-time, non-tenure track, faculty positions in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Assistant Professor level. The Department of Accounting and Finance is seeking a pool of candidates to fill its anticipated teaching need in the area of Business Law. Candidates must be prepared to teach one to two courses in fall and/or spring semester (depending upon the needs of the department) within the area of Business Law and hold regularly scheduled office hours during the semester. Fall semester appointment begins August, 20, 2018 for classes that begin August 27, 2018; Spring semester appointment begins January 3, 2019 for classes that begin January 16, 2019.


REQUIRED/ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
Applicants must exhibit abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation in the area of Business Law.
The candidates must have Scholarly or Instructional Practitioner (SP or IP) qualification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching Business Law courses as the primary instructor at the undergraduate level to a diverse group of students.
Evidence of effective communication skills needed for successful teaching.
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching methods in a classroom.
Industry work experience relevant to the discipline.
