The Dickinson Press, has an immediate opening for a local news reporter.

The Press is a six-day morning newspaper (no Monday edition) with a 6,000 print circulation and a Web readership that produces more than 1 million unique page views a month.

We are located on the edge of the North Dakota Badlands and Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which offers many outdoor opportunities along with great small town living.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in journalism is required and some experience in a professional newsroom is preferred. Recent college graduates with a proven track record of excellence will be considered.
• Have strong leadership, decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility is required. Ability to write with confidence on multiple topics.
• Ability to handle deadline stress and work on deadline.
• Must have computer skills in word processing and database management, strong writing and interviewing skills, including the ability to listen to interview subjects and take accurate notes.
• Work hours may include weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a reliable vehicle covered with acceptable insurance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record that is insurable by the company.
