The Position:
The Annual Giving Program Manager is responsible for the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program with an emphasis on donor acquisition, reacquisition and retention. Anticipated Appointment date: August 1, 2018

Responsibilities:

Annual Fund Management
*Objectively evaluate Annual Giving programs, make recommendations and lead development of new strategies based on data metrics.
*Develop a comprehensive, multi-channel strategic plan that integrates annual giving initiatives. Monitor and adjust goals and strategic plan as needed to ensure annual goal attainment.
*Ensure that all components of Annual Giving program are integrated and messaged across all channels to optimize response and long-term impact of annual appeals.
*Develop and implement strategies for phone, direct mail and online campaigns, set goals and develop other solicitation tactics (i.e. matching gifts, e-solicitations).
*Manage all aspects of the Call Center including hiring student managers, student callers, and interfacing with vendors.
*Work closely and meet regularly with development staff to review progress, discuss strategy and share ideas for improvement of annual giving results.
*Work with the Communication Specialist to develop compelling content and messaging for all Annual Giving program communications, including Call Center scripts, direct mail appeals, website, social media and electronic communication.
*Set and achieve aggressive goals regarding funds raised; donor retention; alumni participation and all components of Annual Giving.
*Develop and implement an annual giving business plan each year including budget recommendations.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
*Maintain a pipeline of leadership annual donors to provide a steady flow of prospects and donors to higher levels of giving. This includes identifying and soliciting annual giving prospects through personal visits.

Qualifications (Required):
*Bachelor's degree.
*Minimum of one-year experience managing annual giving programs or two years related advancement/development experience.
*Proficient in using the most recent versions of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (i.e. MSWord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
*Highly effective writing skills for multiple audiences and channels.
*Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
*Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and to accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
*Must have high level of interpersonal skills, both in person and via phone, to handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations with varied internal and external constituencies.
*High energy, positive attitude, high degree of initiative.
*Must be able to work at night, when necessary, to ensure proper operations in the Call Center.
*Some weekends required for attending donor and/or alumni events.

Qualifications (Preferred) :
*Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
*Experience in higher education fundraising.
*Experience in direct mail, telemarketing, social media, personal solicitation, other multi-channel strategies and management of fundraising volunteers.
*Knowledge of fundraising software including Talisma and Campus Call.
