JOB SUMMARY

Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team in providing assistance with social, emotional and economic concerns of the client and family, thus enabling them to achieve or maintain an optimal level of functioning. Utilizes appropriate age-related client care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric clients. Works closely with additional clinical staff to achieve fiscally sound and timely continued planning outcomes.Working knowledge of the principles of team work and is knowledgeable regarding the impact of illness on the client/family. Knowledge and clinical experience in the psychosocial and economic management of problems commonly occurring with an illness and provides brief therapy as appropriate. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Works in the community setting with child care program staff and parents to assist in the development of management plans for children up to age eight that are exhiting challenging behaviors in the day care setting. Knowledge in Early Childhood and Childhood Devlopment is helpful in this role.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Schedule includes: Weekday Days and Evenings with some Saturdays. Daily activities include: Observation of children ages 2-8 years old, Developing behavioral management plans for child care staff and parents, Meeting with parents to discuss child's management plan on challenging behaviors. Review and develop classes/webinars, on-site teaching of classes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed for social work practice in South Dakota (LCSW). A graduate of an accredited social work program with a Master's degree in social work.
