Overview
Full-time, benefited position working 72-80 hours per two week pay period. Days of work are Monday - Friday with variable hours. If in tech II role, weekends, holidays and call is required. Assists other tradesmen within the department or the outside contractors as assigned; performs a variety of duties in the hospital repairing machines, mechanical equipment, deliveries, waste handling, lawn and grown maitenance, courier services and other assigned duties.

Ability to read and understand simple written communications and procedures.
Minimum of on the job training.
If tech II:
High School level (12th Grade) of knowledge in reading, writing and arithmetic; understands and communicates detailed instructions and procedures.
Minimum of one to two years in hospital maintenance or a related field.

Responsibilities
- While performing duties, may interact with patients of all ages (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics).
- Cleans work, shop areas, and equipment rooms.
- Picks up parts, supplies, materials, and provides transportation and delivers to appropriate areas as assigned.
- Maintains department equipment.
- Completes assigned work orders on Hospital work order computer system.
- Assists with drains, fixtures, sewer cleaning, etc as assigned.
- Reports any lighting that is not working in the parking lots or other outside areas of the building.
- Replaces bulbs as needed and cleans the fixtures as required.
- Repairs cords and non patient care items as needed.
- Assist boiler operator with repair and steam piping as needed.
- Grease bearings and motors as assigned.
- Replace drive belts as assigned.
- Air filter replacement as assigned.
- Assists the with installation and repair such as hanging doors, windows, screens, locks, etc as needed.
- Patches holes in walls and ceilings as assigned.
- Lubricates doors and latches.
- Replaces floor tiles.
- Measures broken glass for replacement.
- Inspects handrails for looseness, repairs as necessary.
- Paints equipment and devices as assigned
- Yard care duties as assigned.
- Snow removal from the parking lots as assigned.
- Operate medium sized power equipment used to maintain the grounds.
- Will be included in the on-call rotation which will require after-hours work and weekend work hours.
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Operations Manager.
