Primary duties will include the following:

Minnesota State University Moorhead is seeking a full time (40 hours/week) Instructional Technology Specialist 1 (ITS 1) for the Online and Extended Learning division. 

The primary purpose of this position is to assist and support faculty, staff, and students who are using technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and student success, and their effective use in various educational settings (e.g. in the classroom, in the online learning environment, etc.). It includes providing first level support for faculty, staff, and students who request help with educational technologies, developing and providing training in the use of educational technologies, and administering surveys and testing services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competence in the use of computer-based technologies; knowledgeable in using web-based environments
  • Ability to evaluate, manage and use software applications for a variety of software and hardware platforms including the Windows and/or Macintosh platforms
  •  Follow oral and written directions.
  • Effectively communicate technical information in simple written and oral instructions to non-technical faculty, staff, and students
  •  Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, taking initiative, and being willing to learn.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of survey tools.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborative and independent problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of D2L Brightspace and/or similar LMS sufficient to provide first level support.
  • Knowledge and experience with web design, including basic html.
  • Experience creating course shells in D2L Brightspace and/or similar LMS.

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
