Overview

The principal function of the Inside Rental Sales position is to increase store rental revenue and profitability by providing superior customer service. Qualified candidates will be ambitious and motivated self-starters that utilize a strong sense of urgency and ability to multi-task to stay organized in a fast-past environment. Responsibilities include servicing new and existing accounts to achieve rental revenue and additional business unit sales goals while increasing market share and exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with and support outside sales efforts on orders, bids/quotes, deliveries, and service
  • Receive customer orders while negotiating maximum potential rate and quantity, obtaining full details of order and serving as the customer's in store contact point on rental equipment.
  • Responding to customer inquiries, managing customer expectations, resolving customer problems, issues, and concerns.
  • Organize and maintain a best in class rental product display and an organized and clean warehouse.
  • Dispatch delivery drivers for rental equipment delivery/pick-up and customer equipment delivery/pick-up
  • Communicate and coordinate with customers, delivery drivers, service department and outside sales representatives to ensure customer expectations and revenue goals are exceeded.
  • Processing rental contracts and invoicing with accuracy and detail including; maintaining/documenting of on/off rental dates, rates, ancillary charges, contract changes, filing of open and closed contracts.
  • Monitor fleet availability for reservations and walk-ins including working with service department to ensure equipment availability and increase utilization.
  • Professionally cross-sell all company product/services lines and up-sell value-added products/services
  • Conduct outgoing calls to generate revenue, new accounts, and maintain existing accounts
  • Document details of customer calls in phone log and maintain missed rental log
  • Assist in the delivering of, loading/unloading of equipment and orienting customer on equipment
  • Other duties/projects as assigned


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Safety-minded work habits
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and utilize excellent verbal (phone & in person) and written communication skills to successfully interface with all levels of account base
  • Detail and Accuracy Oriented
  • Ability to perform in a fast pace, stressful work environment
  • Ability to handle and resolve frequent interpersonal conflict
  • Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. MS Office Package, Internet, Windows Applications), and ability to perform administrative tasks
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, continually changing industry
  • Rental industry or similar experience preferred (i.e., counter sales, customer service experience with strong sales skills)
  • Must have ability to work flexible schedules; including nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to regularly and reliably attend work, according to the schedule established at store management discretion
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment
  • Ability to handle and resolve frequent interpersonal conflict
  • Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees
