JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for, but not limited to, the maintenance, repair, calibration, fabrication and installation of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and manual controls on all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in the facilities. The Hvac Technician is responsible for providing all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance in a safe, professional manner employing all current acceptable practices. Must take extra precautions when working in patient care areas and specifically, keep tools out of reach of children. Performs necessary installation, repair, and maintenance services to assure continuous operation of mechanical equipment and systems. Operates building automation system computers and equipment to control pumps, fans, motors, dampers and related equipment to supply proper indoor air temperature and volume. Must have a general knowledge of plumbing, and general maintenance. May require nights, weekends and on-call duties.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, such as by changing filters, cleaning ducts, or refilling non-toxic refrigerants. Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components. Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders. Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions. Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, or changing filters. Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area.
QUALIFICATIONS
Refrigeration certification beneficial. Valid drivers license required. Must maintain a good driving record. High School Diploma or GED is required. HVAC or Refrigeration Control Trade or Vo-Tech school preferred.
