Position Overview

A Software Test Engineer is responsible for identifying, communicating, and mitigating risk of applicationdevelopment throughout the SDLC while participating in the testing Community of Practice.

Must be able to...
  • Participate in and understand the PDCe software design
  • Participate in test planning, automation, design, execution, and results validation throughout the development process.
  • Provide requirements analysis and risk mitigation strategy for development activities to assess, communicate, and mitigate risk surrounding a backlog item, user story, or other business request.
  • Collaborate extensively with development software engineers to coordinate and review test code coverage and a holistic testing approach to insure a stable product at release.
  • Provide periodic regression testing while contributing to an ever growing regression suite of automated tests.
  • Participate in the Testing Community of Practice to contribute to the Center of Excellence

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
  • Must have clear writing and communication skills, as well as strong planning skills. Must have previous experience with software testing and test automation
  • Demonstrate proven behavioral skills, including being a team player, sound thinking and judgment, achieving results, relating to people, managing work effectively, and leading by example
  • Generally spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
  • Generally spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
  • Ability to operate computer workstation hardware and software
Preferred Qualifications/Selection Criteria:
  • Undergraduate degree or currently working on an undergraduate degree in an IT related field such as Computer Science or Information Systems. Previous experience with business domain areas or software development.
