We are looking for atalented individualto join ourHillsboro factoryas an Assistant MDS Supervisor. The Assistant MDS Supervisor will assist the MDS Supervisor in directing the day-to-day operation of the molasses desugarization facility and related operations in an efficient, safe and compliant manner while optimizing sugar production.

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Works within the MDS process to maximize output, sugar recovery and betaine recovery* (*-HLB only).
  • Assist MDS shipping and receiving operation to ensure appropriate availability of incoming and outgoing product.
  • Is responsible for administering and maintaining the MDS food safety program.
  • Ensures MDS and tank farm operations are compliant with environmental regulation requirements.
  • Works with the MDS team and the maintenance department to ensure effective operations.
  • The Assistant MDS Supervisor reviews and approves MDS employee attendance and time-off requests and monitors overtime pay and attendance issues and responds to issues within the provisions of the collectively bargaining agreement.


Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of power (electrical and steam), evaporation processes, control technology, and maintenance.
  • Completion of a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree and/or a minimum of three to five years of food processing or related experience.
  • An understanding of the ion exclusion process is preferred.
  • Effective organizational, oral and written communication, and supervisory skills are necessary.
