- 12 Hour Rotating Shift -

Loads and unloads materials into the proper tank.

Conveys samples from storage or work sites to Lab for analysis.

Records number of units of materials moved or handled on appropriate paperwork.

Learns to operate the Trackmobile and moves cars around in the yard safely.

Follows all safety rules. Including wearing all appropriate PPE including reflective vests when moving cars. Uses blue flags when loading and unloading cars to ensure personal safety.

Attaches seals to tankers and marks information on necessary forms.

Loads or unloads trucks with industrial molasses & other byproducts.

Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as tightening packings and replacing pipe caps.

Verifies tank car numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate by-product is loaded.

Inspects interior for cleanliness and exterior for leaks and damage.

Swings loading spout over dome and turns valve to admit liquids to tank.

Connects steam hose to molasses tanker and attaches special dome, when unloading cars.

Starts pumps and turns valves to admit by-product into tank car.

Inspects rupture disc, vacuum relief valve, rubber gaskets on valves and cover plates, and replaces defective parts.

Pumps compressed air into steam coils to displace water during cold weather.

Monitors Juice storage tank information on a daily basis.

Performs all required recordkeeping.

Performs tank inventories when on Day Shift as scheduled.

Performs all cleaning duties in yard, at pump houses, and in MDS buildings as scheduled or as directed.

Works with the Ion Helper where applicable to help unload trucks or other activities as needed.

Cross trains with the Ion Helpers where applicable to learn Ion Helper job to help as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Works overtime as required.

Minimum Requirements

Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions; therefore exposed to varying weather conditions and slippery/uneven ground. Works near moving mechanical parts; and in an area of moderate noise level; although hearing protection is required. Wears other Personal Protection Equipment as required.

Frequently required to stand and occasionally is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel, crouch or crawl; and must be able to talk and hear. Occasionally must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
