Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $38,000.00+/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The Self-Paced Enroll Anytime (SPEA) Coordinator is responsible for managing and advancing the SPEA program. The Program offers over 80 undergraduate credit courses online in a 9-month timeframe in which students enroll for academic credit. Some of the courses meet essential studies requirements and others are considered electives. This position will be responsible for providing the management, coordination, delivery, and follow-up for the self-paced enroll anytime courses, including working with faculty on developing new courses, monitoring and improving student progress and communication, and quality assurance of new and existing courses.
 

  • Determine best mix of enroll anytime, self-paced course offerings with emphasis on essential studies and high enrolling undergraduate courses.
  • Monitor course offerings, determine when current courses need to be revised/rewritten and new courses developed.
  • In cooperation with the Director, Chairs and Deans, advocate for new course development.
  • Survey and compile data to determine viability of new courses and the need to update existing courses. Work directly with Assistant Director, Director, students, and faculty to determine new course development.
  • Meet with the UND instructor and UND Instructional Designers from TTaDA to discuss developing the most effective and efficient online courses.
  • Assist, as appropriate, with the course setup in UND’s learning management system.
  • Provide reports to Department Chairs and College Dean to review annual enrollments, instructors of record, grading payments, etc.
  • Work with the Data Manager, Student Records Specialists (SRS), and UND Marketing and Creative Services, to ensure all course offerings are listed appropriately on the website.
  • Review and interpret state and national regulations in regards to ‘correspondence study’ or self-paced enroll anytime courses (e.g. financial aid, Department of Education, Higher Learning Commission, etc.).
  • Work with Assistant Director, Director, and UND Marketing and Creative Services on an outreach/awareness plan to market self-paced, enroll anytime courses.
  • Assist with annual budget development, annual goal development, and monthly budget and goal review process.
  • Implement and monitor communication plan for enhanced course completion by enrolled students.
  • Develop and implement tutorials and orientation modules to assist students in starting and navigating their self-paced, enroll anytime courses.
  • Monitor drop, withdrawal, and failure rates for each self-paced, enroll anytime course and determine if changes need to be made. If so, work with the instructor of record for modifications.
  • Monitor the online courses for broken links, needed updates and limitations on student progress.
  • Work with students, faculty members, and staff on issues related to student grievances, faculty concerns, communication issues, etc.
  • Review each course for quality, consistency, errors, and appropriate protocol.
  • Monitor evaluations to look for improvements that could be made to courses. Forward course evaluations to instructor of record and follow UND policy for distributing evaluation information to Department Chair.
  • Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director and Director.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, eLearning, Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or related field
  • Two years of experience in higher education
  • Two years of administrative, program leadership, or project management experience required
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email, and database or customer management systems
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with market research, budget development, and needs assessment
  • Experience with Blackboard or other learning management systems
  • Experience with distance education and continuing education (credit and non-credit)
