This position coordinates all aspects of room assignments, room changes, meal plan changes and cancellations with the Director of Housing & Residental Life and other Residential Life staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer's needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction; perform the duties described above with courtesy, respect, and interest in positive problem solving; ability to use customer service skills on the phone, in person, and online to provide effective general and specialized office support (this requires courtesy, tact, interest in positive problem solving, empathy and the ability to organize ideas logically).
  • English skills sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers to develop, modify, evaluate/improve, interpret, and explain administrative and department policies, practices and procedures; and maintain complex records, files, notes, and logs.
  • Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals: calculate percentages and use simple formulas.
  • Word processing skills sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, charts, graphs and other business software applications to collect, query and analyze data and prepare charts, reports, and presentations.
  • Spreadsheets and database management software applications knowledge sufficient to create spreadsheets & databases from a variety of sources and compile lists, spreadsheets, and graphs to track attendance and activities.
  • Ability to follow administrative and programmatic procedures.
  • Typing /keyboarding skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy; to perform production typing with extensive use of numbers, charts and columns; type letters, forms, memoranda and other materials).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception through execution and evaluation, creating clear and attainable project objectives, maintaining project requirements, managing project constraints, and communicating progress and results.
  • Skills in database management sufficient to develop reports and tables, retrieve, and analyze data and produce reports for management use in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills sufficient to fully understand end user requirements and create viable business solutions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related area.
  • Experience in higher education setting.
  • Experience in designing, coordinating and executing event management.
  • Experience supervising, leading, and delivering training that engages learners and staff to achieve departmental objectives.

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
