Job Summary

The Finance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the financial activity of the company including analysis of cost allocations, cost recording, preparing deliverables to ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and company policies.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and reviews the activities of the Finance department staff.
  • Responds to requests from internal and external customers, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), auditors, Board of Directors (BOD), and various Board committees.
  • Develops positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Prepares/reviews deliverables to ensure timely delivery to internal and external customers. Deliverables may include, but are not limited to required CMS reporting, company financial statements, monthly contract billings, reports to the BOD, and various Board Committees.
  • May oversee the preparation of cash and/or bank reporting for internal and external customers.
  • May oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • May oversee administrative cost recording, allocation, and reporting to ensure compliance with cost disclosure statement, GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and company policies.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field OR equivalent work experience
  • 5 years' experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to lead a group of people

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of FAR and CAS preferred

Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands
  • Office Environment
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone usage
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
