The primary function of this position is to provide technical solutions in architecture, design, and development of web-based applications and web service interfaces. Develop and implement solutions to integrate existing applications as well as new functionality into all Swanson affiliated websites.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Produce new and refresh outdated code for a variety of Swanson affiliated website and materials, as well as formulate initial concepts for new projects.
  • Collaborate with development team, project managers, managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and define project specifications with clear project deliverables and timelines.
  • Produce reasonable and accurate estimates of development hours required to meet deliverables; ensure projects are completed to spec, within scope and deadlines.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary to remain knowledgeable of team, company and project goals and objectives.
  • Communicate project progress and/or delays; sufficiently document project details in project management system.
  • Perform sufficient testing to identify and resolve problems before the application is presented for review (UX review, QA, business users).
  • Develop and maintenance of Content Management System.
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies or applications and alert team of integration opportunities where applicable; actively seek out innovative solutions to solve web-related business problems; work with management to keep systems updated and functional.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.

    • Familiar with HTML, JavaScript, CSS
    • Knowledge of content delivery networks
    • Familiar with web API's and development frameworks

    Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and Experience Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems with minimum of 5 years experience in web programming, and experience with IntelliJ, UML design, Java Design Patterns, JSP, Servlets, Java Beans, Tomcat, Apache Server, J2EE, JMS, JPA, SVN, Apache Ant, Spring Framework, Linux Server, IBM WebSphere MQ, Terracotta. Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
