The IT Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, performance tuning, recovery, security and the highest level of availability for supported systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

IT Infrastructure Analyst I
  • Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission, vision and values of Altru Health System.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize job duties and requirements in order to meet the customer's needs.
  • Ensures that supported servers have appropriate backups, security patches, firmware and available resources such as memory, storage and CPU.
  • Troubleshoots problems in a timely manner. Documents all appropriate activities.
  • Implements, tests, upgrades, and maintains hardware, virtual hardware and operating systems. Ensures that all systems are appropriately secured from viruses or other attack vectors.
  • Participates in on-call rotation: ensures that after hours coverage of customer support is maintained per department policies and procedures. Responds to calls in a timely manner. Takes responsibility for the problems reported and sees to it that a fix is provided to which the customer is kept informed and agrees
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

IT Infrastructure Analyst II
  • Completes all essential job functions of IT Infrastructure Analyst I.
  • Performs Database Administration to ensure that databases are maintained.
  • Implements, tests and maintains LDAP, DNS and DHCP. Maintains Directory Services.
  • Provides input and recommendations for equipment purchase.
  • Monitors performance, availability, and security of supported systems.
  • Clearly explains system functions to users and co-workers, both in ad hoc and formal situations.
  • Develops and deploys appropriate knowledge base articles.
IT Infrastructure Analyst III
  • Completes all essential job functions of IT Infrastructure Analyst II.
  • Performs Database Administration task to ensure that databases are installed, configured, maintained and available.
  • Ensures that supported servers are available through an appropriate disaster recovery solution. Evaluates and implements performance, availability, and security measures.
  • Implements, tests and maintains Directory Services.
  • Performs necessary investigation, analysis, evaluation to determine and recommend project feasibility.
Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst
  • Completes all essential job functions of IT Infrastructure Analyst III.
  • Performs complicated database administration tasks.
  • Responsible for high level availability for critical servers and directory services. Responsible for performance and security for critical systems.
  • Provides assistance and leadership to all infrastructure staff.
  • Ensures that all infrastructure staff have appropriate training and tools.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in technical systems support.
    • A minimum of one (1) year for IT Infrastructure Analyst I.
    • A minimum of two (2) years for IT Infrastructure Analyst II.
    • A minimum of five (5) years for IT Infrastructure Analyst III.
    • A minimum of seven (7) years for Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst.
  • Proficient communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong logical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of health care infrastructure.
Additionally Preferred for IT Infrastructure Analyst III and Senior:
  • Proficient knowledge of technical infrastructure, and the complexity of large systems.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Familiar with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.

  • Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
  • Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and development and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
    • All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
    • The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader/Manager.
    • The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
