Practice Specifics
- Essentia Health, a leader and primary source for both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for children and their families.
- Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center has a decades long tradition of providing exceptional services to children with neurodevelopmental disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neuromuscular disorders.
- Our team is composed of over 30 clinicians in occupational, physical, speech, and psychological therapies. The psychologists and social workers are an integral part of the team, with the services provided by our child physiatrist augmented by neurology, pediatrics, family medicine, and specialists as needed.
- We run multiple specialty clinics and provide a vibrant place to work and treat children.
- Psychologists provide diagnostic interviews and testing to clarify questions from the other members of the team, as well as referrals from the wider medical community, so that clinicians will have clarity of the strengths of the child and family so that therapies will be optimized.
- In addition to diagnostic clarification and treatment consultation, they are also actively treating children and families in therapy. They have the freedom to conduct therapy in a manner consistent with their knowledge and experience, and use evidence-based therapies, such as PCIT, when indicated.
- There is also opportunity to teach, lecture, and conduct independent research.
Education and/or years' experience required:
- A doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited university
- Two years of supervised clinical experience in psychological health services of which at least one year is post-doctoral and one year (may be the post-doctoral year) is in an organized psychological health service training program
- Licensure/Certifications required:
Must be a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota, or in the state in which Essentia practice is located.
