    • JOB SUMMARY
      • The Service Representative-Home Care is responsible for coordinating communication between staff, patients/families, visitors, physicians and other health care providers. Processes and enters daily patient charges not directly entered by clinician. Maintains records pertinent to certification/medical orders status, logging all material in order tracking systems on an ongoing basis. Provides office support to department staff. Performs miscellaneous clerical/scheduling duties as assigned. Transcribes medication/medical information into the patient record as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: High School diploma or equivalent AND (See Experience).
      • Experience: One (1) year previous experience in a medical office setting or two (2) years of education and work experience in a position with similar duties, including the use of basic computer (Microsoft) office software applications.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Wisconsin Background Study upon hire and renewed per Wisconsin state law.
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: Completion of approved vocational, technical, medical secretarial or related program.

    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      • Knowledge of basic communication skills, computerized office applications, customer relations principles, telephone answering, keyboard proficiency and organization skills. Knowledge of office procedures; medical records; medical record forms and placement; medical terminology. Skills: Computer, spelling, punctuation, use of reference materials, filing, typing. Ability to successfully pass a computer skills test for use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to type at a minimum of fifty (50) wpm at ninety (90) percent accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain empathetic, respectful and positive customer relations behaviors and to effectively communicate with patients/families, clinics, Physicians, clinicians, management and support staff, both on the telephone and in person. Ability to present and maintain a professional image and demeanor and to tactfully negotiate scheduling needs. Ability to prioritize, do multi-functional tasks and to complete tasks in a timely manner with close attention to details and accuracy, to work independently in an environment with interruptions, people and equipment congestion. Ability to work in stressful conditions and to be flexible. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, demonstrate good judgment in determining work priorities, understand and comply with policies and procedures related to confidentiality.
      • READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
      • WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.
      • SPEAKING - Basic: Ability to speak simple sentences.
      • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
      • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
