JOB SUMMARY

Manages all web content and projects related to a specific website. Approves all new content and layouts. Reviews and moderates usage and member-generated content. Serves as a point of escalation for technical issues on a community site. The Manager of Web Development reviews and maintains the content management system and implements necessary back end systems. Oversees the selection and implementation of content management tools and procedures. Ensures content projects conform to published architectural and design standards and best practices. Acts as the in-house technical expert on Sitecore .NET platform. Manages and takes ownership of work queues and development team. Designs and develops solutions rapidly in an agile environment. Works across teams to find the best solutions to problems. Mentors and inspires junior web development staff. Supports server issues, database infrastructure and manage release processes. Works with outside vendors. Strong software web development background with hands-on design and development. Experience building mission critical websites, applications, and solutions in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of at least one configuration management/deployment system (e.g. Chief, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack). Exceptional skills with Git, SVN and Stash for code version control and coding with small teams (less than 10 people). Experience with server management and IIS Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Understanding and experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies. Sound judgment and strong technical leadership with the ability to drive decisions through consensus and influence change are a must. Attention to detail and communication skills are required, as are a willingness to be hands on with development. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to handle multiple projects at once. Requires hands on development responsibilities. Experience with software versioning and release management. Experience working both independently and in a team environment. Ability to innovate and provide functional applications. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines. Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Assign and review the work of systems analysts, programmers, and other computer-related workers. Recruit, hire, train and supervise staff, or participate in staffing decisions. Stay abreast of advances in technology. Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades. Write supporting code for Web applications or Web sites. Design, build, or maintain Web sites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media. Develop or implement procedures for ongoing Web site revision. Recommend and implement performance improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Sitecore certification desired. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required. Prior website and application development experience building robust and innovative solutions in a past paced environment is desired, as is having knowledge of a wide range of coding skills including database, web data analytics and visualization. Strong experience with .NET and web frameworks (Sitecore, Laravel, Django, Drupal, Rails or Flask) as well as writing JavaScript, CSS, HTML for both the client and server-side. Experience with web security and processing, transferring and visualizing large data sets preferred. Six years of experience designing/developing web applications for products using ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript technologies and SQL Server Design database schema preferred. Six years of object-oriented design and implementation. Experience working with complex content management systems (Sitecore, Abode Experience Manager, Drupal, etc.) preferred. Two years of experience with popular JavaScript libraries (jQuery, Angular and/or React) preferred. Three years of experience developing web applications within Sitecore. Understanding and experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
