Pellet Loader

Major Duties:
Responsible for the safe and sanitary loading of pellets into rail cars, including inspecting rail cars to ensure cars meet the quality standards necessary to transport Company products.
Safely operates pellet loading equipment, including but not limited to forklift, track mobile and wheel loader.
Coordinates the positioning and moving of pellet rail cars.
Accurately completes SAP bulk loading related computer entries.
Continuously monitors and ensures cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Works overtime as required.
Work Environment: Exposed to noise levels above 85 dB at times. Airborne dust varies from light to heavy depending on the area. Personal protective equipment available and must be worn. Employee is exposed to outside environment when moving rail cars and exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations in the loading of pellets. Works on various walking surfaces, concrete, steel grating, aluminum decking, and rail yard areas. Areas can be slippery at times.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and infrequently up to 70 pounds with assistance. Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Must have the ability to climb stairs. Must be able to stand and walk frequently. Must be able to reach with hands & arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to open top and bottom railcar doors. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must have training/knowledge in emergency evacuation procedures, and safety procedures. Must be able to work in extreme cold when moving rail cars for periods of 2 hours or more. Must be able to operate various pellet loading equipment.

Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
And, individuals are required to take a Combined Basic Skills Test to verify basic skills and knowledge. Assessment Test Scores for Basic Skills Test:
Familiar with and responsible for all equipment and machinery in pellet storage areas. This includes pellet loading equipment, screening and weighing equipment, dust collection system, locomotive, track mobile, forklift and wheel loader for pellet loading.
Responsible for the safe and sanitary loading of pellets into rail cars. This includes inspecting rail cars to ensure they meet quality standards necessary to transport Company products. Must understand and be able to coordinate positioning and moving of pellet rail cars.
Working knowledge of the entire bulk loading computer entry procedures.
