POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Sourcing Specialist position will be responsible for leading cost and productivity improvements within our supply chain in alignment with our category sourcing strategies and supporting our corporate objectives. This position will be responsible for providing spend analysis to develop the appropriate strategies, reporting project and financial status, and leading the cross functional implementation of individual projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze our historical and projected spend to provide categorical segmentation and trends to form the basis of strategy development.
  • Identify key cost drivers for targeted categories and provide correlation to economic trends, particularly for raw material costs.
  • Develop should cost models and utilize total cost of ownership analysis to identify and prioritize target categories and strategies.
  • Create category packages for competitive market assessment in alignment and lead the supplier selection process, focusing on supplier consolidation opportunities.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and implementation of necessary Supply Agreements.
  • Lead cross functional Value Analysis / Value Engineering projects internally and externally.
  • Provide directly project leadership for key improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and report project status, performance metrics, and financial results and forecasts. Present regularly to senior management.
  • Maintain a pipeline of projects and so the project implementation can be aligned with the overall product plan and technology roadmap.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Supply Chain/Operations or Engineering is required, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years proven purchasing experience working closely with product development engineers in a Technology Category for OEM with a demonstrated success in developing supplier partnerships.
  • Advanced knowledge of supply contracts with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Advanced knowledge of commodity markets, with capability to analyze data and develop strategy.
  • Strong aptitude in development and analysis of should cost models and total cost of ownership.
  • Functional knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing process control, and technical data.
  • Strong experience in the delivery of complex program management, cross-functional business/capability development and change initiatives.
  • Effective negotiation, communication, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) supported by matching verbal and written communication skills.
