Shift: Days with on call nights and weekends

Hours Per Shift: 8 hr

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner. Must take extra precautions when working in patient care areas and specifically, keep tools out of reach of children. Must possess basic mechanical knowledge, and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges. Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful. Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled. Complies with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Understands written and verbal communications. Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances. Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, Hvac, and bed repair and maintenance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Working to maintain the overall building maintenance as well as exterior maintenance to include snow removal, lawn maintenance. Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools. Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations. Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks. Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in all types of building maintenance preferred.
