JOB SUMMARY

Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field of vascular disease and new procedures, as they evolve. Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations. Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient while in the sonographers care. Assist with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation via Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all customers (i.e. patients, co-workers, physicians, peers etc.).Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of cardiac and/or vascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamic principles. Must know 2 dimensional color flow and Doppler wave form analysis. Must understand age-related protocols for the various testing. Must have good communication skills to work with patients and families, physicians, and other healthcare workers. This position may have access to medications for purposes of distribution to licensed personnel.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee will perform ultrasound procedures for our mobile outreach program as well as perform vascular screenings at various locations. This may include driving Sanford vehicles, flying by aircraft and occasionally an overnight stay at a hotel. Employee will perform EKG's. Employee will work a variety of shifts which include rotating nights

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be registered with the ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS) or be registry eligible. Registry eligible staff would need to pass the registry (RVT) or (RVS) within 6 months of hire or will not be able to work within the role. When applicable, the employee must have a current valid Category 1 drivers license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category 1 drivers. Must have associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent experience.
