Swanson Health Products in seeking an experienced senior-level HR Generalist to join our team. Qualified candidates will have extensive benefits experience including knowledge of self-funded benefit plan administration, compliance expertise, and a considerable employee relations background. The Senior HR Generalist will also have responsibilities for on-boarding, employee engagement, vendor relations, and management of special projects as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice, coaching, and recommendations to assigned customer groups providing advice that follows company policies and procedures while considering compliance and legal ramifications.
  • Communicate provisions of benefit packages by way of benefit booklets, new employee orientations, and annual policy renewal meetings.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
  • Assess and give advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolving employee benefit problems, FMLA and ADA compliance.
  • Advise individuals regarding eligibility and coverage for company benefit programs.
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing utilizing benefits administration software for things such as enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of generalist experience. Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
