JOB SUMMARY

Perform echocardiography tests/procedures in accordance with American Society of Echocardiography standards.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for performing cardiac ultrasounds in a professional and diagnostic manner. Thoroughly understands the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilizes new sonographic technologies. Interacts professionally and effectiviely with fellow health care professionals. Performs adult and pediatric studies. These include but are not limted to TTE, TEE, and Stress Echo. Observes, evaluates, and participates in the educational processes of the Sonography or Radiology student when necessary. Helps train in new employees as needed. Works as a team to fulfill tasks assigned for accreditation of lab and efficiencies of the department. Performs mobile exams when needed. Adheres to safety and infection control policies established by Sanford. Works to develop an understanding of the patients physical and emotional status and practices confidentiality at all times. Works with a diverse population of patients. Works various shifts and rotates call after hours, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be licensed with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation (MIRT) board. RDCS preferred,but not required. Must be registered in one area of ultrasound from the ARDMS or Registry Eligible .Registry must be obtained within 3 years of hire. The employee will be evaluated and will adhere to the specific guidelines established by the ARDMS. It will then be determined as to the time frame the new hire will take the registry, if applicable.CPR certification required within six weeks of employment, re-certification as required. Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent level of education. Completion of an allied health certificate or an approved school of Diagnostic Imaging preferred but not required.
