Department: 12501 Emergency Services Tech
Job Description: Plans, organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned nursing unit(s) to facilitate workflow, enhance unit productivity, and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff. Position requires strong verbal communication skills, strong written communication skills (including legible handwriting) and a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, visitors, co-workers and other team members. Performs clerical and reception duties, requisition supplies, equipment and services as directed, observe telemetry monitor when indicated, notifying patient's caregiver of any changes.

Licensure/CertificationQualifications:
East Market:
BLS certification (new hires must obtain within 1 month of hire) Certification must be from the American Heart Association (BLS for the Health Care Provider) or the American Red Cross (CPR for the Professional Rescuer).
Central Market:
Maintains current NAR (Nursing Assistant Registered) (for employees hired after November 2001)
Completes Therapeutic Intervention (TI) training within six (6) months of hire if no previous TI or has not had a TI training/refresher within past three calendar years.
BLS certification within the first 30 days of hire or transfer.
West Market:
Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred, if no CNA, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within three months of date of employment.
BLS certification required within 3 months after hire.
