Summary:
Responsible for organizing, developing, and directing physical therapy services in accordance with the standards and practice of physical therapy, state and federal regulations, and Knute Nelson's policies and procedures. Assure that the highest degree of quality care, customer service, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times. Be pleasant, respectful, and courteous to clients, family members, visitors, and fellow employees at all times.
Reports to:
Branch Manager
Scope:
Work closely with clients, family members, and other home care and therapy staff. Provide work direction and deligation to the Home Care Physical Therapist Assistants. No positions report to the Physical Therapist.
Requirements:
• Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents and visitors. Must complete and pass a state required background study.
• Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy
• Current license and/or registration to practice physical therapy in Minnesota
• Experience in adult acute, long-term care & aging adult populations desired
• Experience in home care preferred; a desire to learn home care delivery a must
• Ability to incorporate all aspects of physical therapy in client care
• Ability to instruct and supervise personnel to assure adequate and competent client care
• Must be organized and able to complete required tasks on schedule
• Possess strong team philosophy and demonstrate teamwork mentality
• Capacity to grasp new theories and principles and implement them in practice
• Computer skills and solid management of documentation processes
• Ability to work a flexible weekday schedule
• Must be able to safely perform the essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
• Maintain driver's license & use of insured personal vehicle when necessary
