Grounds II

Flex-time works only as needed, covering vacations, illnesses, emergencies, increased workload. Flex-time does not receive benefits; in lieu of benefits, it receives an additional 15% flex differential, on top of the base wage.

The Groundskeeper II works flexible hours when required based on seasonal requirements; operates snow removal equipment; independently follows established snow removal procedures and routes; confers with Supervisor in establishing snow removal priorities and methods; performs maintenance and preventive maintenance on equipment; operates and maintains power-mowing equipment; performs landscape work; maintains and repairs irrigation equipment; provides daily custodial of parking lots; cleans storm drains; maintains trucks, tools, and equipment; responsible for inventory control of grounds parts and supplies; demonstrates the ability to read and interpret site and basic landscape plans; applies fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides to trees, shrubs and lawn and installs sign posts and signs.

Required:

• High school diploma or the equivalent.

• Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.

• Experience with mechanical equipment.

• One (1) year experience in working with grounds/plant equipment, i.e., payloader.

• Valid driver's license.

• Class B North Dakota (CDL brake endorsement) or equivalent preferred, if not must take test and pass with six (6) months.

• Previous horticulture experience.

• Ability to push, pull, carry or regularly lift objects up to approximately 25 pounds and/or occasionally lifts about 50 pounds.

• Successful completion of functional assessment.
