This posting is hiring for multiple positions.



The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining internal administration of existing accounts, new to Blue, and renewals. This role's responsibility includes, but not limited to, new to Blue and renewal processing, product implementation, re-enrollment activities, vendor interaction, generating reports, preparing materials, research, problem resolution, and other administrative and account activities. This role acts as a liaison between Sales and Account Management and other internal facing departments to resolve enrollment and billing needs.

Essential Functions

  • Supports Sales and Account Management in retaining and growing existing business and ensure positive relationships are maintained.
  • Acts as a liaison between the system vendor, Sales, Account Management, and Membership when necessary to resolve complicated enrollment and billing situations.
  • Handles client product implementations and collaborates with Sales and Account Management with problem resolution.
  • Coordinates and manages the completion, documentation, and data caption of all account requirements for expansion and renewing business to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines along with performance guarantees.
  • Coordinates the design, production and delivery of member identification cards and communication materials in adherence to specifications and executes enhancements necessary to ensure the successful transition and ongoing support of electronic enrollment processing.
  • Participates in the implementation and renewal planning process by providing benefit recommendations, understanding account expectations, and turning them into optimal business solutions.
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance products, company policies and procedures, and regulations.
  • Remains up-to-date of underwriting and billing regulations and policies, benefits designs, and rating processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of federal and state regulations that affect the insurance business and participates in training seminars and continuing education programs.

Education Requirements

Required: Associate's

Preferred: Bachelor's

Field(s) of Study: Business, Marketing, Healthcare or related field.

Experience Requirements

Required: Minimum of 3 Years

Preferred: Minimum of 4 Years

Experience Details: Minimum of 3 years of sales, marketing, account management or related experience is required. Previous BCBSND or affiliated company experience preferred.
