Job Summary

The HR Intern provides quality HR compliance and administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the HR team and special assignments as needed for up to a 9 month period of time. The HR Intern will be provided with a well-rounded experience in areas of HR such as benefits, compensation, talent acquisition and employee relations.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Provides excellent customer service by answering questions from internal and external customers or directing inquiries to the appropriate party.

• Assists with the onboarding and hiring process such as scheduling interviews, initiating background checks, assisting with new hire orientation and completing new hire paperwork.

• Participates in training activities as assigned.

• May assist department in special projects, tasks, or duties to maintain the workload of the team.

• Contributes to the organization's operations and processes while obtaining firsthand experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

• Must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by leadership and be flexible in assignment changes.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills

• Interpersonal skills

• Strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills

• Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office products

• Working on an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three months' work experience

Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands
  • Office Environment
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone usage
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
