Department: 14270 Ambulance

Job Description: The supervisor is responsible for direct supervision, scheduling, orientation/training, employee relations and performance management for assigned staff of emergency medical care providers (EMTs and Paramedics.) Ensures accuracy and completeness of run reports and other documentation. Performs and/or oversees the inspection of rigs and equipment to ensure that appropriate maintenance is completed and proper stock is on hand. Ensures that records are maintained and supplies/medications/narcotics are appropriately accounted for. Assists administration with planning and evaluating the delivery of services. Provides recommendations for major purchase decisions, and assists the Manager with departmental budget review and preparation. Evaluates updates, creates and enforces clinical guidelines and departmental policy and procedures. Provides medical emergency services and transport when scheduled or as needed, and maintains required licensures/certifications.

Education Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalency.

Completion of a EMT training program and 3 years of full time equivalent experience as a EMT. Knowledge of EMT, Ambulance Services and orientation to the emergency room

Licensure/CertificationQualifications:
Certified CPR Instructor

Minimum age of 23 unless exemption has been obtained

Over 75, need to have medical permission

Minimum of 2 years' experience in the type of vehicle being driven

Current (Valid) US/State Drivers' License

Current EMT license in Minnesota

FTE: 1

Shift Rotation: Day Rotation (United States of America)

Shift Start Time: 0800

Shift End Time: 1630

Weekends: some

Holidays: No
