Looking for a new or experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (must be pediatric trained/certified) to care for newborns through teens in the outpatient setting. Current team consists of 5 Pediatricians and 3 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNP); this care model offers collegial, high-producing colleagues that work as a team and are highly committed to the care of our region's children. This position will focus on our Walk-in Care, acute services but may provide some primary care on an as needed basis. Come and provide care in an enjoyable and fulfilling work environment.

  • 0.8 - 1.0 FTE, full-time status dependent upon walk-in services and/or also providing primary care
  • Clinic hours are Monday-Friday clinic between 8a-5p with Walk-In hours from 8a-4p; no call, no inpatient rounding
  • Clinic location is South University Campus
  • 15-25 patients per day providing acute, walk-in and potentially primary care (typically scheduled every 15 minutes once provider has completed onboarding/training.)
  • Must be pediatric trained and certified through PNCB or ANCC (PPCNP-BC); experience working as a PNP is preferred.


Our Pediatric department supports Essentia's plan to increasingly promote teams of Physicians and Nurse Practitioners to enhance care coordination and continuity. PNPs provide health care to children and adolescents age 0-18 years old, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.


The Nurse Practitioner utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited program/institution.
  • Pediatric trained and certified through PNCB or ANCC (PPCNP-BC)
  • New candidates will be considered; experience working as a PNP is preferred


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Current licensure/ability to secure as a registered nurse in ND.
  • Current licensure/ability to secure as a Nurse Practitioner in ND
  • Current certification in CPR; requires PALS Certification. If these certifications are not current, Essentia will arrange for certification after employment begins.
  • National certification, in applicable area.
  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
