Custodian

This will be an evening shift position, working 2:30pm – 11:00pm, Monday through Friday. However, during the summer, when students are on summer break, hours will be 6:00am – 2:30pm. Once hired by the district, benefits provided include: retirement, paid health and life insurance. Other benefits (dental, disability, vision, etc) are also available. Penmac offers health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance prior to being hired by the school district. The rate of pay for this position is $10.50 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand safety in the workplace and perform work in a safe manner
  
• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas
  
• Clean, mop, wash, buff, and vacuum floors* Empty trash
  
• Remove recycling materials* Clean tables, chairs, and/or other furniture
  
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the Supervisor
  
• Other duties as assigned
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting 10%, standing/walking 90%. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, squat, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk and hear.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

• High School Diploma/GED
  
• Must pass a fingerprint background check and drug screen
  
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, detail orientation and ability to multi-task are required
