Lead Carpenter

 

Western Wisconsin/ East Metro (MN) remodeling firm is seeking to hire a qualified Lead Carpenter. Applicants should have a minimum five years experience in rough and finish carpentry and/or other areas of residential and commercial construction. The ideal candidate will be able to manage job sites with co-workers and trade contractors. As the daily on-site company representative, the lead carpenter must focus on product quality and customer satisfaction. Starting pay will be based on experience.

 

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

Willingness to learn.

 

Knowledge of construction methods of various trades such as: demolition, framing, interior trim, exterior trim, basic HVAC/electrical/plumbing, drywall, flooring, painting, window & door installation, siding, tile.

 

Ability to work independently.

 

Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.

 

Ability to handle a wide variety of projects in a residential and commercial setting.

 

Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized job-site.

 

Basic knowledge of applicable building codes.

 

Ability to interact and communicate well with the client, co-workers, subcontractors, and company managers.

 

Self-starter with attention to detail.

 

Possess reliable transportation

 

Possess own cell phone

 

Possess valid driver’s license

 


 

Position Responsibilities:

 

The Lead Carpenter is completely responsible for the successful completion of the jobs assigned to them, which includes completing projects on schedule and on budget, while maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and professional communication. The lead carpenter is responsible for overall project quality -- not only his/her own workmanship, but for the quality of every task and product involved. Clean, safe, and organized job-sites are required. Jobsite hazards must be identified and addressed with the building occupants, as well as fellow trades-people. Lead Carpenters may at times be required to handle customer requests, questions, and complaints in a polite and professional manner. Lead carpenters must be able to recognize and enforce appropriate jobsite language and behavior.

 

 

Other Requirements:

 

Able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions and elements.

 

Able to work with a wide variety of tools and materials.

 

Able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment and materials, working safely on ladders and scaffolding, working while bending or kneeling, and working overhead.

 

Must have basic carpentry tools

 

Proficiency with tile a plus.

 

Able to send and receive email a plus
