Accounting Analyst

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for recording journal entries including monthly claims, insurance, reinsurance and pharmacy rebates. This position performs month-end analysis through reconciliations and analytics to help identify potential errors or unusual items and assists management and other team members with various reporting activities such as quarterly surveys and monthly financials.

Essential Functions

• Enters monthly journal entries for assigned areas such as insurance, reinsurance, accounting for prescription drug activity, premium and claims entries, health exchange business and pharmacy rebates.
• Performs reconciliation of accounts and analyzes trends/activity.
• Assists with annual cash flow projections to ensure adequate cash flow for the organization.
• Assists with financial reports to the North Dakota Department of Insurance (ND DOI) and Blue Cross Blue Shield Associate (BCBSA).
• Completes surveys, prepares presentations and conducts other projects, as requested.

Field(s) of Study: Finance, Business, Accounting or related field. CPA preferred.

Experience Details: Minimum of 1 year of general accounting or related experience is required.
