Job Information

This is a leadership position responsible for alignment of Manufacturing Engineering (ME) resources to approved projects, standardizing project management and deliverables, communication, project and resource gap analysis, project CER manufacturing input, project budget review, and standardization of the ME and Tooling co-op program.

Additionally, this person will be responsible for portfolio management of manufacturing projects (identifying and managing resource requirements, timing and budgetary aspects of manufacturing’s project portfolio) as well as becoming the Operation’s superuser for the portfolio management software solution for the Company. The position will interface at all levels, cross functionally, throughout the North America organization.

Role & Responsibility

Resource Management
  • Provide oversight for resource allocation.
  • Work with Process Development Leads and site ME Managers to accurately forecast resource needs of proposed projects.
  • Represent the Operations Council at P3 Accountability and provide initial assessment of projects and the ability of Operations to support.
  • Lead in resource planning for the LRP and AOP for Operations.
  • Lead regional co-op needs assessment and hiring; standardize the ME co-op experience, review process, and improve pipeline management.
  • Lead in defining the on-boarding and training requirements for regional ME staff


Standardizing Portfolio Management
  • Oversee and maintain key financial data into systems for oversight of project budgets and financials related to manufacturing engineering resources.
  • Oversee consistent allocation of resources and tracking of hours.
  • Promote standard methods for working projects – EFI, EPC requirements, Operation’s NPD phase deliverables, etc. Provide ME training to enhance knowledge of ME processes and tasks across all ME groups and sites.
  • Develop pertinent ME standards and SWI's as necessary, and publish.
  • Coordinate miscellaneous ad hoc reporting requests-resource availability monthly reporting packages.


Job Requirement

· Strong communication skills

· Financial analysis skills

· Strong background in Operation’s technical work – ME and

· Tooling processes

· Organization skills for managing numerous projects and providing oversight to resource allocations and project budget reviews.

· Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of applications

· Engineering-General - Bachelor’s Degree Change to: BS in Engineering preferred. BS/BA minimum

· 10>15 years’ experience

· Record of success in previous leadership positions within the organization.

· Previous experience in team development activities is a plus.

· 10 - 24 % travel

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
