Position Description:
The Department of Psychology at NDSU has a 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor available Fall 2019 (August 16, 2019 start date). The position is 45% research, 45% teaching, and 10% service. The successful candidate is expected to develop a dynamic, externally funded research program. Successful candidates will conduct research on a health-related topic that will complement existing areas of research emphasis in the department, including stress, psychophysiology, sleep, psychophysics, emotions, personality, group behaviors and decision making, meaning in life, clinical psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. The successful candidate will join a growing and highly interactive cross-departmental research community invested in human behavior and its psychological and biological bases, as expressed by the NDSU Grand Challenge to address "Healthy Populations and Vital Communities" (https://www.ndsu.edu/research/). Candidates are also expected to supervise PhD students, teach 3 courses per year, and advise undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for the position are: 1) Ph.D. degree in Psychology or related discipline by anticipated start date, 2) evidence of research accomplishments, 3) excellent potential for external funding, and 4) ability to teach courses in our curriculum and to interact effectively with colleagues and students. 5) Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Priority will be given to applicants whose interests may benefit from existing collaborative relationships with Sanford Health, the Neuropsychiatric Research Institute (now part of Sanford Research), and the Center for Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience.
