General Purpose: 

To assist Marketing & Business Development in the implementation of the Marketing Plan as it relates to Mid-Minnesota member segmentations, product development and local/state/national competition using internal and external media.  Exceptional research skills are imperative to this position.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Media - Internal

  1. Assistant Coordinator/Editor/Copywriter – Member newsletters.  Researches topics, writes/assigns/edits articles, assists with the coordination of art and design, ensures timely delivery, all within deadline.  Assists Director of Marketing & Communication with editorial decisions, including the selection of issue content.  Includes necessary contact with design, printing, mail house, and postal vendor.  Responsible for completion of these and other related tasks for two MMFCU publications including EUREKA and In Touch.

  2. Editor/Copywriter – Internal staff newsletter.Assists with the preparation of issue content and deadlines, assigns/edits articles, coordinates art and design, and ensures timely delivery.

  3. Editor/Copywriter – Internal staff quarterly Wellness Newsletter.Assists with the preparation of issue content and deadlines, assigns/edits articles, coordinates art and design, and ensures timely delivery.

  4. Public Relations.  Assists in researching and writing first-draft press releases, including the gathering of appropriate facts and/or supplemental information including testimonials, photography, etc.

  5. Public Relations.  Assists in reporting event follow up through Press Releases, Social Media platforms, MN Credit Union Network, CU Spotlight, etc.

  6. Awards. Design and execute annual state and national award competitions, such as, Desjardins Youth, Desjardins Adult, Dora Maxwell, and Louise Herring.

  7. Multimedia/Lobby Coordinator/Copywriter.Create and maintain office multimedia, posters, and signage.  Assist in brochure development.

  8. Electronic Messages Coordinator/Copywriter.Responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of Messages On Hold.

  9. Assistant Coordinator - Direct Mail.Assists in the development and coordination of MMFCU’s direct mail efforts, including contact with MCIF vendors.  Level of participation will vary. Responsible for implementation, updating, and distribution of ongoing direct mail campaigns.

  10. Other internal promotion as assigned.
     

    Media – External

    1. Coordinator – Other Print/Premiums.Aids in content development, copy writing, and ad placement for various magazines, directories, etc.  Assists in contact with miscellaneous print and premium vendors.

    2. Assistant Coordinator – Electronic Marketing.Aids in content development, copy writing, and ad placement for various electronic banner advertisements an Social Media Platforms.

    3. Assistant Coordinator – Radio/Television.Assists in radio/television production as needed.

    4. Assistant Coordinator – Web Site.  Updates rate sheets, promotional information, and online newsletters.  Meets with web vendors when appropriate.

    5. Assistant Coordinator – Newspaper.   Assists in the design, copy writing, and placement as needed.

    6. Assistant Coordinator – Trade Shows/Events.Assists in development of presence at commerce shows, etc. as needed.

    7. Other external promotion as assigned.
       

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Coordinator – Credit Union Recognition.  Responsible for development of entries for various award programs, including but not limited to:  Dora Maxwell, Bridge, Golden Mirror, Diamond, Keystone, etc.

  2. Assistant Coordinator – Promotional Campaigns.Provides assistance in development/follow-through of various promotional campaigns.

  3. Assistant Coordinator – Public Relations.Provides assistance in development/follow-through of various PR efforts.

  4. Assistant Coordinator – Market Research.Thorough knowledge and use of MCIF Service Bureau, including attendance at educational seminars, meetings.  Complete development and follow-up of in-house surveys.  Tracking results of promotional efforts, product/service usage, loan/share growth as assigned.

  5. Assistant Coordinator – Member Seminars/Events.Responsible for assisting the Marketing & Business Development Specialist in CU-hosted member events (i.e.: Gold Workshops, Youth Movie Days).  Duties include scheduling, hiring speakers, securing locations, promotion, reservations, member correspondence, preparing location, event evaluation, etc.

  6. Committee Member – Liaison and/or active participant of the Activity Committee and Social Responsibility Committee.

  7. Other duties as assigned.
